Carnosine, Curcumin, and Acetyl-L-Carnitine and Neurodegenerative Diseases
Italian researchers reviewed the neuroprotective role of antioxidants, such as curcumin, acetyl-L-carnitine and l-carnosine. They concluded that these nutrients help activate pro-survival pathways in the body as well as the cellular pathways that protect against oxidative stress and activate vitagenes — genes that control various maintenance and repair processes in the body, in a network of longevity assurance processes.
