Let the Kids Have Juice
It’s a misconception that giving children 100% juice, such as orange, apple and grapefruit juice, will make them overweight, according to a thorough review of the evidence by researchers at Louisiana State University and Baylor College of Medicine. This is good news because drinking 100% fruit juice is an easy way for children to get important nutrients and antioxidants, also found in whole fruit.
Tip: Check to be sure that “100% juice” appears on the label, signifying the product is real juice and not inferior “juice drinks” that are largely flavored sugar water.
