Lentils Found to Reduce High Blood Pressure
According to Canadian researchers, lentils can substantially relieve high blood pressure and reverse the decline in blood vessel health that comes with age. It appears that this humble, inexpensive food may offer dramatic health benefits.
Lentils Can Increase Blood Flow and Block High Blood Pressure
Dr. Zahradka and Dr. Carla Taylor from the University of Manitoba based their findings on two animal studies conducted in 2013 and 2014. One was a clinical trial that showed how eating a mixture of peas, lentils, beans and chickpeas could increase blood flow to the legs of people with peripheral artery disease, which is closely related to cerebrovascular disease and coronary heart disease. In the second trial, lentils were found to block high blood pressure effectively.
If you suffer from prostate problems, youre not alone. By age 70, a shocking 9 in 10 American men will struggle with start and stop urine flow, an inability to perform or having to go all the time even in the middle of the night.
It’s a myth, however, that prostate trouble is an unavoidable part of aging for men. While the conventional approach to dealing with prostate problems doesn’t address the root cause and can actually make things worse there is a natural solution that is simple, safe and effective.
These are amazing results, since they provide a non-pharmacological way of treating diseases associated with blood vessel dysfunction, said Zahradka. The most notable finding of the latest study was the fact that lentils could alter the physical properties of blood vessels so that they resembled the vessels found in healthy animals.
High blood pressure afflicts one out of every three American adults, reports the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It has been called the silent killer because it often doesnt involve symptoms and many people are unaware they have it. Yet the conditions damaging and weakening effects on blood vessels often leads to fatalities from heart attacks and strokes.
