Curcumin Helps Diabetics Manage Inflammation
When diagnosed with diabetes, there are a whole host of inflammation-related health complications that can accompany the diagnoss. That is, unless you take an active role managing the disease. One thing you can do is to take a curcumin supplement.
Canadian researchers found that rats treated for one month with curcumin did not experience the inflammation and gene expression associated with diabetes. They explain that the antioxidant properties of curcumin seem to prevent the development of numerous inflammation markers that oxidative stress can mediate. (Chiu J. et al. Nutrition. Sept 2009, 25(9): 964-972.)
The Anti-Aging Bottom Line: Add this study to the list of research that proves curcumin as a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. Sure, you could try to eat more turmeric. But why worry about whether you’re getting enough of this spice’s benefits? Supplements provide you with a concentrated and measured dose.
